Emily Raley Guidry Receives Emerging Professional Award

Emily Raley Guidry has received the 2019 Emerging Professional Award from the Louisiana State Board of Interior Designers (LSBID).  The LSBID acknowledges new professionals as promising future leaders in the field of Interior Design. The Award is intended for Interior Designers in the State of Louisiana who have applied for licensure or who have been licensed 8 years or less. Nominees must have demonstrated professional excellence in the field of practice, must show leadership in the profession, and must demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the profession of Interior Design.

Emily plays a large role in the Interior Design community. She has held numerous board positions with the Delta Regional Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) including VP of Student Affairs, VP of Professional Development, and is currently serving as the 2019-2020 President.  

Emily graduated with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Just a few short years later, she became NCIDQ certified and a Registered Interior Designer with the State of Louisiana.  Since joining WHLC over 7 years ago, she has contributed to award-winning projects such as the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC), Business First Bank, BTR Airport Expansion, Sanova Dermatology, Thibodaux Regional Wellness Center, and Mockler Beverage.  

Additionally, Emily’s work has been included in several publications, including:

  • Healthcare Designmagazine which highlighted the Thibodaux Regional Wellness Center
  • Bentley Mills website which featured the Interior Design Carpet Pattern and Selection for St. James Stevedoring
  • Greater Baton Rouge Business Report which featured the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s new office

Emily currently leads the WHLC Interior Design Studio and is pursuing accreditation to become a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer through AAHID.
