USA plans to open new $2.8 million clinic in Fairhope
"The design of this new facility is premised on a casual coastal atmosphere providing state of the art care in a comfortable setting and with a welcoming feel familiar to Eastern Shore cancer patients. WHLC is excited to contribute to the healthcare environment of our local community."
Plans to construct a new state of the art medical office building in Fairhope, AL have been announced by The University of South Alabama. The $2.8 million clinic will house its Baldwin County Oncology and Infusion services, which are currently located at the Thomas Hospital campus.
Newly appointed USA Mitchell Cancer Institute director, Dr. Michael A. Finan reported the up and coming 9,600 sq. ft. clinic will boast such attributes as exam rooms, physicians’ offices and an infusion suite. "This clinic will offer many advantages for patients," said Finan. “It will be a convenient, pleasant clinic environment with ease of access and room for us to grow."

Baldwin County is one of the fastest growing counties in Alabama and USA MCI is committed to treating those patients. "Our patients on the Eastern Shore don't have to drive to Mobile to see their doctor, in most cases," Finan said. "With the completion of the new clinic, they'll be able to park right outside the door." Construction of the new building will take place on 1.75 acres adjacent to the Baldwin County Satellite Courthouse on Fairhope Avenue purchased from the Arthur Corte family by the USA Board of Trustees. "We feel very fortunate to be able to help expand the Mitchell Cancer Institute presence on the Eastern Shore," said Corte, of Fairhope. WHLC's Alabama office, located on Section Street in Fairhope, is handling the design services.
