The new building is a 2-story 20,000 sf building, in which the Sanova Dermatology clinic and Mohs surgery clinic occupies 10,000 sf on the ground floor.  The center is situated in the key Perkins Road corridor of the Baton Rouge Health District.

Baton Rouge Health District

The Baton Rouge Health District is a dynamic collaborative of the area’s leading healthcare providers, dedicated to improving the region’s health profiles.   In his remarks at the Grand Openting, Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s John Spain noted - “Sanova Dermatology exemplifies exactly the type of innovative, quality healthcare provider that we envisioned the Baton Rouge Health District drawing to the area.”

About Sanova Baton Rouge

Dr. Chad Prather, the head physician and Mohs surgeon for the Sanova clinic in Baton Rouge, was the chief visionary for the project along with design Architect Camile Silva.  Mohs surgery is a highly specialized procedure for removing cancerous skin cells while sparing healthy tissue and minimizing scars.  Dr. Prather’s practice draws patients not only from Baton Rouge, but from other major metropolitan areas including New Orleans, Monroe, and Lake Charles.

“ A high quality of care often starts with a high quality of space”

The Mohs procedure can be lengthy, requiring patients to wait in procedure rooms much longer than they would for a typical trip to the doctor.  To accommodate these extended-stay patients, the design of the Sanova clinic creates a soothing environment with large airy spaces, ample natural light, natural vegetation, modern forms and soft-wood tones.

WHLC was proud to be a part of the team that brought this vision to reality.  Congratulations again to Sanova Dermatology.
