Tina Young-Nelms, NCIDQ, RID
Interior Designer
As an interior designer at WHLC, Tina Young-Nelms brings over 25 years of commercial interior design and space planning experience to our Interior Design Department.
Tina’s broad range of project experience - government, healthcare, educational, financial, and corporate – combined with her keen ability to design solutions that integrate functionality requirements with aesthetics, offers a balance of creativity, collaboration and forward thinking with a structured, organized and detailed mentality; enabling her to deliver focused development, follow through and total completion to each aspect of the design.
Tina’s signature is planning functional, memorable and energetic environments for the full range of users. Tina feels that there is no room for complacency in the field of interior design. And enjoys the challenge.
Tina is passionate about creating interior spaces that are not just aesthetically pleasing, but also functional and safe, and she believes “A space that is beautiful but does not function well is appreciated for a very short time. A space that is highly functional and the aesthetic mirrors the needs of the user increases wellbeing and the desire to excel in those surroundings.”
Tina lives in Fairhope and enjoys spending time with her husband Kurtis Nelms, and daughters Kyser and Kyndall.
