Beach-Side Commercial Square

Concept for a Sophisticated, Energetic Commercial Center

This mixture of retail, restaurants and office space adds classy flare to a popular beach-side road. Two story buildings encircle a large courtyard with a central shaded open space that can be used for entertainment, outdoor markets, food trucks, or other special events. A large restaurant space is situated prominently on the second level with views of the water and street life. Another challenge for this project is to reconfigure the street to reduce traffic speed and upscale its image. Traffic lanes are reduced to add on-street parking, pedestrian amenities are provided, and streetscape is improved with standardized streetlights and signage, landscaped medians, and rows of palms.
