Concept for a Sophisticated, Energetic Commercial Center

This mixture of retail, restaurants and office space adds classy flare to a popular beach-side road. Two-story buildings encircle a large courtyard with a central shaded open space that can be used for entertainment, outdoor markets, food trucks, or other special events. A large restaurant space is situated prominently on the second level with views of the water and street life. Another challenge for this project is to reconfigure the street to reduce traffic speed and upscale its image. A reduction in traffic lanes allows for the addition of on street parking. Standardized streetlights and signage clearly outline the traffic flow for drivers and pedestrians. Pedestrian amenities, rows of palm trees, and landscaped medians improve the streetscape.
