The Salvation Army's Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

Biloxi, MS

The Kroc Center brings together the dynamic amenities of a recreation complex, performing arts center and Salvation Army worship center. The 52,000 sf facility serves as a beacon of hope and agent of change in an under-served community. Programmed to serve the full economic and cultural diversity of the area, it provides spiritual, social, recreational, and cultural resources the community.

Program elements include the chapel, fellowship hall, multi-purpose rooms, art and band rooms, dance studios, a fitness and training area, full-court gymnasium, and indoor pool with two-story slide, lap lanes, lazy river and water therapy areas.

The environmentally conscious design is on target to receive LEED Silver certification. A variety of electrical, water and indoor air quality monitoring devices work together with sophisticated mechanical systems and day lighting techniques to create a healthful building environment.
